Set screws, also known as grub screws, typically have no heads and are fastened into a threaded hole on a component to hold it in place against another component.

Cup point set screws use a concaved tip with a dome or cone-shaped depression to bite into the mounting surface. This creates a matching indent on the mounting surface that the tip engages with and helps resist rotation.
